How long will the claim take?
This will depend upon the nature of the injury you suffer and how long it takes for you to recover. It will also depend upon whether liability is admitted or disputed. An " average whiplash type claim" would have a typical lifespan of three to six months.
How much will I recover?
Again, this depends upon the type of injury and the period of suffering. It is also effected by any treatment required and, importantly, by how the injury affects your day to day routine. There is no "set figure" for any specific type of injury.
Do I have to see a doctor?
In most cases you will need to be examined by an idependent doctor or specialist so that a medical report can be prepared. We will arrange this for you. We will ensure that the appointment is local to you.
Can I have a no win no fee agreement?
A "No Win No Fee" agreement is actually called a Conditional Fee Agreement. We will assess if it is appropriate for your case to be handled under this agreement. If your case is likely to succeed then almost certainly we will. You may have legal cover under your motor insurance policy. We will find out for you. If you have then we can represent you under your policy. You are allowed to use any solicitor you wish, you should not let your insurers persuade you that you must use "their solicitor".
Can I have a hire car?
Yes, if your case is likely to succeed. If your vehicle is not legally roadworthy you are entitled to have a hire car, paid for by the responsible driver's insurers, for as long as may be reasonably necessary. This would usually be on a "like for like" basis. We can arrange this for you.
Can I recover my expenses quickly?
So long as the insurers admit liability you can recover any losses or expenses before you settle the injury part of your claim. These payments are called "interim payments". Generally, you will need to have evidence to prove the money you have lost or the expenses you have incurred.
