Motorcycle pillion passenger boy goes to High Court

11th October 2011

The collision with a Ford Fiesta occurred in June 2010 and left the boy, now 12 years old, with cognitive, communication, emotional and behavioural difficulties resultant from the personal injuries he suffered in the road traffic accident.

The boy’s step-mum has now commenced High Court legal proceedings in a claim which could be valued at more than £300,000, it is reported.

Personal injury solicitors representing the family say the driver of the Ford Fiesta was negligent and failed to adequately observe the road, failed to see the father’s motorbike, failed to give way and caused the motorcycle accident by driving into the rider’s path.

The driver has already pleaded guilty, in court, of driving without due care and attention, and has received four penalty points and a fine.

It has not been reported whether the driver’s insurers have admitted liability. The motorcycle accident claim continues.
