Property sales in Chichester news – Lavant deal approved

01st June 2012

For a long time the village of Lavant has been separated from Chichester by a significant band of countryside. However, many say that once houses are built, and property sales in the Chichester satellite go ahead, the two areas will lose their individual identities and will instead become ‘Lavchester’.

Despite some opposition, property development in Lavant is almost certain to become a reality, pending some legal technicalities that, once seen through by solicitors, will confirm approval of the scheme.

Permission to build was sought by Seaward Properties Ltd, who sought planning permission for 24 new homes – 22 houses and two flats – on land at Hunters Rest, in Lavant Road.

Those in favour of the scheme said that the development will provide a welcome boost to property sales in Chichester at a time when there is a shortfall of available housing.
