Lewes rugby player has sustained brain injury

27th September 2013

Neither club has commented on what happened, and no reports stating how the accident occurred have been released.

However, many rugby clubs around Sussex are wishing the woman a speedy recovery. She is currently in Kings Hospital in London receiving medical treatment.

One of the many well-wishers, Hove RFC’s vice captain, stated, “I wish [the player] a full and speedy recovery and if there’s anything Hove can do to help the family or Lewes RFC, we’d happily do it.

“When things like this happen you see the whole rugby community pull together and I’m sure I speak for everyone at the club by saying I hope to see her back involved in the game as quickly as possible. It’s extremely rare to have such a serious injury in rugby which is why everyone is so shocked.”

If someone else’s negligence is found to be responsible for the player’s head injuries, her family might be able to claim compensation on her behalf with the help of an expert personal injury solicitors firm, such as George Ide.
