For many solicitors’ practices, both small to medium size, these are challenging times.
In personal injury, with the removal of referral fees departments are now under increasing pressure to secure work and in many other disciplines competitive pressures are intense.
The George Ide investment department was created fifteen years ago and is one of only a handful in the United Kingdom. It was established out of our concern to provide our clients with as comprehensive a personal service as possible.
As part of the investment process, especially for personally injured and elderly clients, extensive use is also made of different types of protective trust.
We are Authorised and Regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and dedicated to the provision of a comprehensive in-house investment service. Personnel include a full equity partner.
We are also now able to assist other solicitors in the provision of client investment advice, as part of a firm to firm professional relationship within which introducing firms can play a major role in providing a valued client service whilst remaining within the SRA Investment Scope rules. A recurring fee share is provided by agreement.
Q – If you advise our clients, how are we involved?
A- We offer an association within which the introducing solicitor remains actively involved in the client supervisory process. This includes Trusteeship, an Attorney or Court of Protection Deputyship. Much of the work associated with safeguarding the clients best interests and Regulatory Compliance, can be dealt with by the introducing solicitor on an ongoing basis.
