If you have recently visited us in Chichester at our Lion House offices, you may have noticed a ‘for sale’ sign outside – it signals a forthcoming change for our firm that we believe will be good news for all our clients. Later this year we will be relocating our litigation departments to the heart of the city from their existing base in Lion House, St Pancras, in a move that will bring the firm back together in its North Street offices.
The relocation is coupled with a significant shift in our business culture towards flexible working patterns, staff working from home when appropriate, and the increasing use of remote communications technology that is already enabling us to offer enhanced services to clients including those who are self-isolating or shielding from Covid-19.
It has not been an easy decision to move out of the Georgian building that has been our firm’s home since the 1980’s, and I have been part of the Lion House team since joining the firm more than 30 years ago.
George Ide lawyers have been providing a top-flight service to clients for more than 50 years and we remain absolutely committed to serving our local community. Although it is sad to be leaving our long-standing Lion House home and moving out of this beautiful building, we felt it was time to bring the firm together in our North Street offices and to embrace the latest developments in working practices.
It is a decision we took before Coronavirus struck and, as our response to the virus has evolved, it has become clear that flexible working practices will mean that we can continue to provide an excellent level of service to our clients without the need for so much office space.
So, from late autumn, our personal injury, landlord and tenant, dispute resolution and family law departments will be located in North Street, Chichester, alongside our private client, property, investment, and business services teams.
