Accident at work news – Race track grounds-man receives compensation

16th April 2012

The man, who had worked at the track for 20 years, had been loading metal advertising billboards onto the back of a lorry at the time of the incident.

He had been sitting on the hoardings in the back of the vehicle when a strong gust of wind caused him to fall from the lorry.

As a result of the accident at work he sustained a severe head injury which has left him with permanent brain damage.

He has now received £2million in compensation, with annual payments of £250,000 in the first year and £205,000 from then on.

The money will enable him to move into a specially adapted home with his wife, and pay for his 24-hour care.
