Compensation news – Man killed in work accident on a Kinbuck access road

30th April 2012

The 31-year-old man had been working as an energy firm contractor down an unclassified access road when the accident at work took place.

A spokesperson for the police stated, “Tayside Police were called to an unclassified access road…following a report of an industrial accident.

“Officers along with paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance Service attended in the area and a 31-year-old man was found with serious injuries having been trapped between a road roller and a digger. Despite attempts to revive the man he was pronounced dead at the scene.”

Investigations by the police and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) are underway, and so far the police states there are no suspicious underlying circumstances surrounding the incident.

If the HSE finds that the worker sustained his fatal injuries due to the negligence of his employer or another third party, the firm or firms will be liable for the accident and may have a claim made against them by the family of the deceased.
