Compensation claim news – Cleaner wins claim for work accident knee injury

28th May 2012

The man, who was working for a door manufacturing company, had been moving a wooden sawbuck which weighed 30kg when he slipped on the floor.

In order to avoid having the heavy piece of machinery land on top of him the employee twisted away from the equipment as he fell, but this caused him to sustain a serious knee injury.

As a result of the accident at work he had to take several weeks off to recover, was forced to use crutches, and will need physiotherapy.

An investigation by the man’s solicitors into the accident discovered that the firm had painted the floor in the workplace with normal paint instead of anti-slip paint.

The cleaner has received £12,000 in work accident compensation for his injury in an out-of-court settlement.
