Probate solicitors news – Huge probate battle in Hong Kong court

07th June 2012

According to probate solicitors in the Chinese principality, the case is turning out be the longest and most contentious in the history of Hong Kong’s legal system.

The disputed fortune, which is currently held in Trust, is thought to be worth around £8 billion.

The man accused of forging Wang’s will, her former feng shui advisor, Tony Chan, has already appeared in court to face charges.

The Shanghai born Wang inherited the vast bulk of her wealth from her husband, the Hong Kong industrialist Teddy Wang, who disappeared after being kidnapped as he left the Hong Kong Jockey Club in 1990.

Chan claims that he and Ms Wang were lovers and that she left her estate to him – a claim disputed by probate solicitors representing Wang’s descendants.
