Elderly pedestrian injured in hit and run accident

25th March 2013

The pedestrian had been walking near a junction when a vehicle collided with her and failed to stop at the scene.

She was suffering from a head injury and taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital by Emergency Services.

A spokesperson for Strathclyde Police, which is undertaking enquiries into the accident, reported that the lady had been left shaken by the “terrifying” incident.

They added that since the collision took place in daylight and the road would have been busy at the time, there should be some witnesses to the hit and run accident who can help with their investigations.

Furthermore, the police believe the car involved is likely to have sustained some damage, possibly to the front passenger side and windscreen, so anyone who sees a car with this type of damage should contact them.

Any person who suffers injuries in a road traffic accident which was not their fault should contact expert personal injury solicitors such as George Ide for advice and legal representation.
