Princess Anne to open brain injuries hospital
The Chalkdown House facility cost £3.5m and has 20 beds available for patients. It is purpose built to offer a full range of support services and comfort to the individuals staying at the premises.
Run by the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust – a leading brain injury rehabilitation charity in the UK – the facility runs with referrals from the NHS and includes therapy rooms, gardens, and leisure areas.
The Princess Royal will be meeting staff at the hospital and patients currently undergoing treatment. She will be greeted by Gabby Logan, the charity’s vice-patron, whose brother sadly died after suffering a brain injury.
Hopefully, with help from the professionals at Chalkdown House, people who suffer from brain injuries will be able to prepare themselves for re-entry into the community and move on with their lives.News
