Chichester Cycle Challenge 2013
This follows the Chichester Cycling Festival which took place from Saturday 15th to Sunday 23rd of June and was a great success.
With events such as a bicycle jumble sale hosted by homeless charity Stonepillow, a pedal-powered cycling film at the University of Chichester, Cycle to Work Day, as well as a talk by former Olympian and Tour de France cyclist Colin Lewis, the Festival was well received – and should have everyone looking forward to July’s affair.
The Challenge is all about trying to get as many people from your workplace to ride a bike for 10 minutes or more at some point between the 1st and 21st of July. The event’s webpage states, “It’s not about who can cycle the most miles, but who can encourage the most people to give cycling a go”.
Not only might these cycling events increase the number of people who enjoy this healthy, carbon-free way of travelling, but it might also increase awareness of riding safety – reducing the number of bicycle accident claims launched by people in and around West Sussex.
