Sussex teenager who suffered life changing car accident injuries wins claim
The boy’s injuries were life changing and through personal injury lawyers he and his mother launched a 50 per cent liability claim against the driver’s insurers.
In the High Court, the judge heard that the boy will be unlikely to recover fully from the personal injuries suffered in the accident and that he will be highly unlikely to be able to work for a living.
The judge ordered the payment of a £1.5 million lump-sum payout, some of which will be used to fund rehabilitation treatment at a top centre for the disabled.
All parties involved in the claim praised the boy’s mother for her devoted care and that she has been instrumental in the “significant progress” he has made since incurring the brain injury.
Lawyers for the defence said, “What is clear is that [the boy] has been a formidable burden to his mother in recent years since his tragic accident.
“We would like to pay tribute to her for all she has done on her son’s behalf.”News
