Joanna Rowsell involved in cycling accident

12th April 2013

Joanna Rowsell, who won gold in the London Olympic team pursuit, suffered a cycling accident last Saturday.

She was riding her bike in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, when she was struck by a car. Thankfully, she avoided sustaining any serious personal injuries, escaping with only cuts and bruises.

She tweeted her followers to tell them about the incident, stating, “Bike came off worst…I am OK.”

Her agent reported that she was “taking it easy” at home, naturally a little shaken by the cycling accident – apparently the first one she has been suffered in her nine years of riding.

It has not been reported whether or not Rowsell plans on contacting a personal injury solicitor, however, it is unlikely that she will choose to try and claim compensation, considering how minor her injuries are.
