Pre-nups – and post-nups – are not only for the rich and famous. At all asset levels, they are useful tools that help you manage your spouse’s financial claims if your relationship unexpectedly fails further down the line – a properly executed agreement could circumvent the more usual legal principle that marital assets should be shared equally.
It is worth remembering that pre-nups must be agreed at least 28 days before your wedding, so don’t leave it to the last minute to explore this option; start considering well in advance whether a pre-nup might be right for you.
